MATERIALS

PROCEDURE

Introduction:

Review what students have done so far in the unit. Observe the peas and tell students it is time to build trellises to support the growing peas.

Go over what materials the students will be able to use to make their trellises. If offering string, it could be useful to go over tying and wrapping strategies.

Activity

Notice together how the peas are starting to get taller and reach for the sun and something to climb on. Give students time to make their designs in their groups.

Wrap Up/Assessment:

Have students do a gallery walk to see other groups’ designs. Lastly students should draw what their peas look like including the trellis in their Pea Project Booklet on the Week Three page.
