PROCEDURE

Introduction
Spring is on its way and nature is starting to wake up. When you are outside have you noticed all of the music the birds are making? It’s not time to plant in the garden yet, but we are going to use seeds to make little maracas. Many people put seeds inside instruments such as rain sticks and maracas.
Activity
Review what each type of seed is.
Each seed will make a different noise. Put each one into the egg and listen to its sound. Try adding in more of the same type or even mix it up and add in different types of seeds.
When you like the sound of your maraca, tape up the seam on the egg so that it won’t come undone, and write your name on the egg.

FOLLOW UP & EXTENSIONS

Sing a seed song with your maraca.
